Post Number 20!!!

Book: My Life Undecided by Jessica Brody
Feeling: Like I have a cold

POST NUMBER 20!!! Wow, I have twenty posts on  this blog! And I posted at the beginning of the month instead of the end!!! Who knew a 20ith post could have so much hoopla? Aren't you wondering what I will do for my 100 Blog Post? Well, to celebrate post #20 I am unveiling the AuthorStop logo on this blog! If you actually go on AuthorStop you would know that this logo has been up for about a week and isn't anything new but with out further ado, the AuthorStop logo:
Isn't it beautiful? *wipes a tear from eye* AuthorStop is in a series of change right now including some upgrades to hopefully make it a cooler site to go on. But even with the coolest new things some people are just too stubborn to look at a creative writing website. Cure you stubborn people! *shakes fist in the air* Also I have ranted in at least two blog posts about how I can't knit on double pointed needles. Yay! I am now able to finish the hat for my BFF. And make hats for other people too! Whoope! Well I feel sick so I think I'm going to take a nap.

Grandmotherly Habits

Book: Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
Feeling: wet

Wow, I haven't posted in a really long time... tomorrow it would be s month since I posted last. Wow. What is with  me and posting at the end of the month? I don't know. Well I am again going to talk about my apparently Grandmotherly habit of knitting. As I said last month I knit really, really, painstakingly slow. Like, well my Grandmother can knit faster than I can and she is like three times my age, I find that really embarrassing. A friend of mine pointed out that knitting is something only 80 year old Grandmothers do. Which most of my other friends agree with. But I know there are some young knitters out there! Young Knitters of the World Unite!!! So, I am going to bore you to death and probably loose any chance i had at getting a follower by listing all the projects I am working on at once.
  • My best friends Christmas gift, consisting of, a hat, a scarf and arm warmers that I call Wristies because she wanted them short so as to only cover her wrist which I promised for last x-mas so I am going to give them to her the next time I see her. And just to make you even more out of your mind bored, they are black and off white, off white trim on everything (garter stitch) and black everything else (stockinet stitch). They are really cute but i didn't realize the hat pattern called for double pointed needles to finish the decreasing which irks me because I can't use them yet and the hat will have to be put on hold which puts everything on hold.
  • My other best friends Christmas gift, also consisting of hat, scarf, and Wristies. This one is in a variegated green, teal, lilac, and navy yarn all in stockinet stitch. This is a lot shorter than my first bullet point so I am going to babble a little bit. Done!
  • A purple sweater for moi. Not very far along with that, I started in January and its August and all I have done is  20 in of the back... humm a testament to my short attention span and slow knitting skills.... SQUIRREL! Sorry, what was I saying.
  • And squares for my giant patch work knit quilt. I still have 154 4in x 4in squares left to knit. A LONG way to go.
So now that I have bored my readers to death, I am very sorry for you loss, not I cannot come to your funeral. I  will kill you again with the list of my summer reads. I have added about 10 more, but with three days... well I guess only two i am far, far away from my goal of 60.

Christmas Knitting ..... in July!

Book: Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
(Sorry the word of the day was starting to bother me.)
Feeling: annoyed by the word of the day and double pointed needles

So I am a knitting freak among other freaky hobbies I have ( like smelling taxidermy and licking stamps. Not really.) And I knit really slowly. I was making my sister a hat last Christmas and I didn't finish it in time so it was going to be for her Birthday and I didn't have it done by then, so now it is for this Christmas along with a matching scarf. So I have learned that I have to start Christmas presents really early. So, I want to make my Dad a pair of socks, seems easy enough, right? Wrong. I have to use double pointed needles which are really hard to use. I am just really bad at it so, I think everyone will just get scarves. Yup nice long, really long and... I don't have a long enough attention span to make a scarf. This is going to be a lot harder than I thought. Well then, I would like to update my summer reading log:

Summer Reading

Book: Queen of the Dead by Stacy Kade
Word 'o' the Day: askew- slightly off kilter
Feeling: Very tired (time difference stinks)

So I have set myself a very high goal of reading 70 books this summer. It may seem rediculous and unattainable but I plan on making it. So far I have read 10 books. If I read 10 books a week for the next 6 weeks I will have reached my goal with a few days to spare. These are the books I have read so far:
  1. The Espressologist by Kristina Springer

Escalators and Moving Sidewalks Amoung Other Things

Book: Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras by Cathy Hopkins
Word 'o' the Day: irked-a fancy way to say annoyed
Feeling: SO ready for a vacation

Going on vacation! And I have found something I hate about rushed people in an airport. They always walk on the escalators. Seriously, they are so you can relax and let the stairs do the walking for you. Walking down them defeats the purpose of an escalator. And I checked, it DOES NOT make you walk down any faster. Also, walking on moving sidewalks. WHY? They move so you don't have to! But again I did check and it does make you faster. That is no reason for you moving sidewalk walkers to walk on them though (unless you are trying to have super speed, walk on future super heroes of the world). Supposedly "free" WiFi is also really annoying. The airports make you jump through hoops to get your one hour of WiFi. I had to watch a really loud ad to bring you internet people this post. You better appreciate it. Well, because of stinky airport WiFi I bring you this post four days late. Apparently you can't save things online when using airport WiFi so I saved this post on a sticky note until I had/have better WiFi at a hotel I am staying at. I really hate having to look for free WiFi hot spots, why can't every public place have wireless internet?
actual date this should have been sent on: 7/8/11

Ity Bity Site!

Book: Darke by Angie Sage
Word 'O' the Day: audacious - bold, daring, fearless
Feeling: electrifying

My ity-bity  website about writing is actually getting site traffic! I am thrilled. I have had to moderate at least 10 comments a day which is huge. The website is www.authorstop.com it is just a little writing website with mostly teen writers on it. It is totally free to join and post. We are having another contest and it is themed as summer romance. Per a poll about 3 people are entering. And the most exciting news is that I have one user who has been coming on daily! Naw128 rocks! I do have another user who has been a dedicated follower, krazylady2247. So come one come all to my ity bity tiny weeny website.

The End of the World.... Or Not.

Book: Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
Word 'o' the Day: gobble - to eat really quickly (also what preschoolers are told a turkey sounds like)
Feeling: I hate allergies...

I've been tired and feeling downright disgusting all week. I really hate having allergies. So, there are all those billboards saying tomorrow is Judgment Day. Coming from a family of religious nuts I want to say that it IS NOT the end of the world. It just means Jesus will come down from heaven and take a select few back to heaven the let the rest of us stay on earth to die and then rot in h-e-double-hockey-sticks. I am yet another skeptic of this idea, but you never know, it could happen. I am a little annoyed by this priest though. I went to a friend's church and the gospel was basically about how all the other religions will eventually get you to heaven but Catholicism is the only direct route. He sounded like he belonged in the Middle Ages during the Protestant Reformation advocating Catholicism. But religion is a dry topic for me.
I am really annoyed with the amount of authors who are taking a REALLY long time to publish another book. I do get that the writing process and the publishing process is a long span of time. But I gobble books up in a matter of days. It's a really nice day... I think I'm going to go outside...

Blog-a-de-Blog-a-de-blog!

Book: My Unfair Godmother by Janette Rallison
Word 'o' the Day: retalliate- to get back at someone, to right an injustice (depending upon how you look at it)
Feeling: REALLY tired
Mondays are yucky. I really don't like Mondays. But today a lot of people are liking Monday. The big news has been that Osama Bin Laden is dead. And  like two days ago it was the royal wedding. I, like millions of bloggers worldwide, will be writing about both. So I swear half the people in the US are ready to throw a party, while the others aren't so sure. I happen to be a part of the unsure percentile of the world, not just the US. I honestly think that since 9/11 US citizens have been very suspect of Muslims, and frankly not very nice. Yes someone you know died and, yes you will never get them back, but the same is with anyway someone dies. Knowing someone is responsible my make the pain easier to bare, but the truth is they need to come to terms with the death and start to move on. I want to stress that I am trying not to come off as insensitive, and I'm really sorry if I sound that way. I friend of mine said today that Bin Laden being killed "just reminds them [the people who had family killed in 9/11] of that empty space in their hearts and lives". The empty space is just the same for anyone who had known someone who had died, and as for the bringing it back up, no one killed Bin Laden just to make people sad. Anyway, my point is that we shouldn't start planning the "Osama's dead, everything will be better" parties. You never know when there will be retaliation.
Now, the royal wedding, I loved it! Her dress was so pretty. I loved the long lace sleeves, so refreshing compared to the bridal wear sported by most brides. It was a sweet ceremony, although I wondered why everyone wasn't facing the alter. The trees in the Abby were a beautiful touch. A funny thing about West Minster Abby, I over heard someone call it Saint Abby's Church. I found that really funny, the person being a teacher and all.

Comments anyone?

Book: Entwined by Heather Dixon
Word 'o' the Day: stoic- cold and unemotional
Emotion: yucky
So, I don't feel good. My head still hurts from the encounter with my dog's rope toy and I just don't feel well... I should probably do to bed, but I don't want to. I've been writing a bunch today and have about a million show tunes stuck in my head because of it. But I wrote at least the first portion of a chapter of a short (or possibly long) story. It's called "Unnecessary Complications", which I think is a pretty great title. I also buried a bird today. Bones are really white, which is really creepy. I really hope I never have to see bones that close up ever again (well, I'll make an exception for dinosaurs). I gave him (I think it was a boy...) a nice funeral with a gravestone and everything. I named him Norman and I suspect he died in the winter or because of my dog. So, about the title, I really want some followers. What's wrong with my blog? Hummm? I also wish someone other than myself will comment on my posts. But I can't really force you to comment...or can I? I should look into that... Any who, back to the topic of that story I was writing. Here's a little teaser:

"Love is..." he said his face puckering into a sour expression. I gave him a look.
Seth started over "Love is a..."
"Love is a, what?" I asked
     "Love is an unnecessary complication."

Heehee

Book: Gorgeous by Rachel Vail
Word 'O' the Day: trippy- strange and a very 1970s druggie feeling
Feeling: annoyed
I'm posting again. I just wanted to vent my frustration about how there are a lot of authors out there who DO NOT update when new books will be coming out. I have been searching and searching for new books to read and up and coming books. When I become an author I promise I will inform my (probably minimal amount of) fans about how my books are coming along and when the newest ones will be coming out. I will also post on my blog regularly. That's all. I'm going back to book searching.

Stupid cliffhanger...

Book: Gorgeous by Rachel Vail
Word 'O' the Day: trippy- strange and very 1970s druggie feeling
Feeling: headache
So, my head hurts. I was playing with my dog and she has one of those rope toys that reminds me of a mace, anyway she was shaking it back and forth and it hit my nose. It isn't broken but it HURTS and is even more crooked than it would be. I use but a lot... SO yesterday I watched Tangled three times. I liked it very much, as you can probably tell. I really like how Disney is having it so the male main character falls in love first rather than the female, a refreshing step away from a clique. It is debatable if Flinn fell in love first or not, but I am a strong believer in that. So the real reason  I wanted to post was because of the fantastic book I just read. It's called Deamonglass by Rachel Hawkins. It is the sequel to Hex Hall. I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't read it, but it's a freaking cliffhanger and I am SO ticked off. I don't take well to cliffhangers. I found out after a little research on her blog that Hex Hall 3, the third and final book comes out next year. Very depressing for the girl who read the book in a day. I eat up books and would have loved if I could have waltzed down to the library and picked it up.... have they invented time travel yet? I shall go prowl the internet to see if I can have a copy sent back in time.

I'm so short...

Book: Sequins, Secrets, and Silver Linings by Sophia Bennett
Word 'O' the Day: gidget- a short tomboyish girl
Feeling: insanely busy
Every one won't stop telling me how short I am. I'm not short enough to be 'fun sized' but I'm short enough to bug me, because everyone in my family is ridiculously tall! ANYWAY, besides the fact that I am a gidget my brain is crazy crammed with everything for ship bells to chromatic scales. Practically everything I own is covered in a sticky note reminding me of another thing I'm going to forget. Heh heh, I probably go through like a pad of sticky notes per day. I am probably the number one buyer of sticky notes and purple pens in the world. Besides my office supply obsession, i spend my free time popping those packing bubble things. Not really, but it does add a peculiar layer to my quirky personality, right? :)

April Fools!

Book: NONE ( no joke, I'm not reading a book)
Word 'O' The Day: queer - odd, strange, different
Feeling: disgustingly icky
Some people pulled some pretty mean pranks today. This girl came, left then came back. She was known for asking people out no matter the age. Today some guys wanted to ask her out and if she said yes the they would yell "April Fools" in her face. I felt really bad hearing this. She isn't the greatest person but she totally doesn't deserve to be treated so bad. There were some girls who went out of their way to make sure there was no room for her at their lunch table, where her best friend sits with her boyfriend(this actually happened the first day this girl was back). When I mentioned this to a friend she told me I should inform this girl of the prank and made it sound like it was my fault people didn't like her (that friend would be one of the people who doesn't like her). People can be so cruel. Most, myself included, can't see things from another point of view. This girl has been through a lot, two divorces and a split up of possible parents, everyone who is mean doesn't look at those facts. I don't know if I'm totally gung-ho for a crack down on bullying in some places. It may stop cruel things like this prank, but there are a lot of jokes between friends that could be misunderstood by on lookers. On to happier things. It's April, that's good. National Poetry Month. Speaking of that, this website I really like is having a poetry contest for it being National Poetry Month. http://www.authorstop.com/contests I don't really know what to enter yet. It's a pretty small website, so it's not like your winning $1 million but it's still fun to enter, like practice for bigger and better things.
You know what I hate? People who say "I can't wait for the real world, for my life to start." Your life has started! For heaven sakes, you have been living in the real world from the moment you were born. Your life is your choices shaped by the choices of others. Well, it's late and now I'm ranting...

Woah!

Book: NONE (shocked, aren't you)
Word 'O' the Day: ostracized-excluded by the consent of a group
Feeling: like it shouldn't be snowing...
So, It's snowing, and it's practically APRIL! I am avoiding doing work right mow, because really, why should I make a study guide from my lecture notes? My teacher says it doesn't count as a grade, but he will be checking it. How crazy is that? And, Niccolo Machiavelli's The Prince really not that fun to discuss.
